The Hoenny Center promotes action research by K-12 teachers and commissions research reports from others. Get the reports here. Here's a taste of one of them:

Cynthia Welch's students had experienced help from some dedicated middle school students in their science projects this year. The middle school students paired up with Welch's ESE students to master six science experiment procedures. Not only did this support their science understanding but it also helped their comprehension in English language arts. Prepared and coached by Welch, the middle school tutors learned effective ways to help their ESE friends and formed good relationships. Welch reported that, with the middle school students' encouragement and individualized coaching, the ESE students improved their engagement with the science projects and completed their assigned material even more quickly.

Many other teachers' reports are available, showing what teachers across the country are doing to raise student engagement and achievement through peer teaching.
